Restoring your smile with dentures
Dentures are removable prosthetic devices that replace missing teeth and the surrounding gum tissue. They are custom-fabricated from impressions and measurements of your specific jaw, ensuring a comfortable and natural-looking fit. Well-made dentures restore your ability to eat, speak clearly, and smile with confidence.
Modern denture materials and fabrication techniques produce more natural-looking results than older generations of dentures. The acrylic teeth are shade-matched to complement your skin tone and the remaining natural teeth, and the gum-coloured base is contoured to your individual jaw anatomy.
Carewell Dental in Sentul, Jalan Ipoh KL, provides consultations, impressions, and fitting for full and partial dentures, coordinating with a dental laboratory for fabrication.
Full dentures vs partial dentures
Replaces all teeth in the upper or lower jaw. Sits on the gum ridges and is held in place by suction and the surrounding oral muscles. Adhesive can be used for additional stability.
Replaces several missing teeth while anchoring to remaining natural teeth with metal clasps or precision attachments. Generally more stable than full dentures and helps prevent remaining teeth from shifting.

Common questions about dentures
How long does it take to get dentures? add
The denture fabrication process typically takes 3–6 weeks and involves multiple appointments — impressions, bite registration, trial fitting, and final fitting. If teeth need to be extracted first, additional healing time is required before the final denture is made.
Will dentures affect how I eat and speak? add
There is an adjustment period of several weeks. Most patients adapt well within 4–8 weeks. Starting with soft foods and practising speaking aloud speeds up the adjustment. Well-fitting dentures allow most foods to be eaten comfortably.
How long do dentures last? add
Dentures typically need relining or replacement every 5–8 years. As the jaw bone remodels after tooth loss, the fit loosens over time. A loose denture causes sore spots, difficulty chewing, and accelerated bone loss — relining restores the fit without full replacement.
What is the difference between full and partial dentures? add
Full (complete) dentures replace all teeth in an arch. Partial dentures replace some missing teeth and attach to remaining natural teeth with clasps or attachments. Partial dentures are generally more stable because they have natural teeth to anchor to.
Are dentures covered by insurance in Malaysia? add
Many corporate dental panel schemes include dentures in their benefit list with coverage limits that vary by policy. Carewell Dental accepts AIA Berhad, HealthMetrics, PM Care, Red Alert, ASP Medical Group, Health Connect, MediLink-Global, and E-MAS. Contact us to verify your entitlement.
